We are looking for responsible, caring people to join our fantastic team at The Shires, Oakham as a Senior Night Care Worker. As a Senior Night Care Worker, you will support our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy.

Our Senior Night Care Worker’s carry out an essential and varied role to provide the individual, bespoke support required by the children and young people in our care. You will help the children with their nightly routine, collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth day to night transition, complete relevant paperwork, deliver personal care, undertake household tasks, and where appropriate administer medication.

Already qualified to NVQ3 in Health & Social Care, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, able to work with emotional needs and challenging behaviour, and be motivated to provide a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive.

About us:

The Shires consists of four sites all within a 15 minute drive of one another. The Shires at Stretton is Special Educational Needs (SEN) School and Residential home within the Acorn Care and Education and NFA Group - the UK’s Largest, Independent Children’s Services group. We cater for young people aged 11-19 who have been diagnosed with Autism and may have accompanying learning disabilities, behavioural problems or medical conditions.

The ethos of The Shires is very much characterised by a ‘can do’ attitude. Staff share the value of creating a home for children that is not institutionalised and reflects a family atmosphere. They cater for the children on an individual basis and ensure they all receive the support they need.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
