Teaching Assistant

Location:          Oak Tree School, Truro, Cornwall.

Salary:              Up to £17,292.19 per year

Hours:              42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.30pm

Contract:          Permanent, Term Time only

 

We’re looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our growing Oak Tree School team. Someone who is organised and self-motivated would be perfect for this role.

Oak Tree School is a specialist provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 65 children and young people aged 7 to 16 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These children and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our growing staff team. Our aim as a school is to provide the BEST education for every child, through high quality teaching and learning activities and building quality relationships with our children and their families.

This role is for a teaching assistant, who has experience of working with students either the primary or secondary sector. We would welcome applications from professionals across the board.

 

Who we are looking for?

Applicants would benefit from previous experience of working with children with Social Emotional and Mental Health, within an educational setting, but this is not essential, as relevant training would be given to suitable candidates.
