We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our clinical team based in Slinfold. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as they expand their clinical provision, having a real impact and implementing a holistic, therapeutic approach.

The successful applicant will work within 2 settings based on the same site: Manor House School and Burghwood House. Manor House School is a DfE registered independent school which caters for boys and girls with social, emotional and mental health needs between the ages of 7-18 years old. Burghwood House is a dedicated residential children’s home also specifically for children with SEMH needs.

About the role
This opportunity is one of three newly commissioned posts that have been created to shape and develop our local clinical wellbeing service. Our wellbeing approach is one which aims to address the whole person, not just from a purely clinical perspective but starting with biological aspects then moving on to physiological and psychological symptoms. A multidisciplinary perspective with an overall therapeutic approach. The successful applicant will work alongside an Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist and our Regional Head of Clinical Services in delivering the best possible outcomes to those within our care at Manor House School and Burghwood House, whilst also forming part of a group wide specialist, clinical wellbeing team.
In brief the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing a systematic high quality psychology service within the designated provision(s) to children and young people
- Working collaboratively with others to promote the wellbeing and best interests of the children and young people and the effectiveness of the service in achieving its aims and objectives, ensuring a high quality service provision in line with best practice guidelines and internal policies and procedures
- Undertaking all aspects of Clinical Psychology duties adhering to professional and regulatory guidelines
- Carrying out assessments; designing individualised plans and strategies; implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions; report writing; attending and facilitating multi-professional reviews
- Providing advice, information and training to staff, other members of the Clinical Wellbeing and multi-disciplinary team(s), commissioners and other agencies regarding the impact on children of trauma and adverse life experiences; attachment difficulties; neuro-diversity and educational needs.
Key Skills Required
- Post-graduate doctoral level in Clinical Psychology
- Registered with the HCPC and BPS
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the setting
- Substantial and relevant post-qualification experience with children and young people
- Experience of lecturing/teaching/training
- Good knowledge of relevant psychometric tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full valid UK driving licence and access to a car
Desirable: Experience working with children who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
