Salary: £17,000 per annum 

Location: Longdon Hall School, Longdon Green, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS15 4PT 
Hours: 35 hours per week, term time plus INSET days

We’re looking for a Cook and Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at Longdon Hall School, Lichfield, Staffordshire. Someone who can deliver a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role.

About the School

Longdon Hall School is a co-educational day special educational needs and associated conditions School, which helps educate and support Children aged between 7-18 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges and additional complex behaviours.  This site is OFSTED rated outstanding.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for to prepare and cook for students and employees of Longdon Hall school and be responsible for the day to day management of catering services.  Managing and maintaining a high standard of practice and hygiene in accordance with current quality standards, in all aspects of food preparation, which will contribute to the quality of care of each student.

Plan menus to provide meals in accordance to student’s dietary needs i.e. dairy free, gluten free, halal and, alongside management, review the school menu when required. To cook in the kitchen providing a resourceful hands-on approach and manage the day to day administration of the Catering Department.
Hold responsibility for food procurement, supplier relationships, stock control and monitoring standards to ensure provision costs are in line with budgetary requirements.  Ensure that competitive rates are maintained for the provision of services and products and undertake regular benchmarking to ensure value for money objectives are achieved.

Essential Criteria

City & Guilds or NVQ Catering or similar 

Food Hygience and Safety Certificate
