About the role

Initially, because the School will not be open by the time the successful candidate starts, focus will be on developing a curriculum and developing the School. When the first students start, the successful candidate will be expected to nurture the pupils through all subject areas, motivating and inspiring our pupils through individualised learning strategies. You will also create a positive and safe learning environment for the pupils and promote positive relationships between peers. Our aim is to change young people’s lives and we will always provide our pupils with the best possible opportunities to succeed beyond The Tower School.

The successful candidate would ideally be due to start January 2021 in order to support with the opening of the school although, an alternative start is possible for the right candidate.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join the school at the very start and see the team and pupils grow and develop.

Who are we looking for?

Just as important as academic achievement is the social & emotional development of our pupils. We want our pupils to be successful citizens and positively contribute to their local communities, it will therefore be imperative to provide opportunities to advance these skills. Along with this, the use of personalised curriculums and positive reinforcement will underpin your everyday practice.  The successful candidate will have the ability and confidence to teach across all curriculum areas.

This can be a challenging environment and therefore, determination and resiliency are key characteristics for the post. We are seeking an experienced teacher with an understanding of ASC, allowing the successful candidate to immediately form positive relationships and adapt to the needs of the pupils. However, we invest heavily in teacher development and want staff who endeavour to achieve more.  Applications are welcome from teachers with special needs or mainstream backgrounds for this role.

If you are passionate about this truly unique and rewarding sector and have the energy, drive and desire to motivate our pupils and ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes, then we welcome your application.
