Hours:                  Part Time, 10 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 11:30am – 2pm

Contract:              Permanent, Part Time, Term time only

We are looking for a responsible, caring Kitchen Assistant to join our fantastic team at Oakfield House School, Salwick. As Kitchen Assistant, you will help support our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are well fed, comfortable, and healthy.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a team committed to helping children with varied and complex needs. You will work alongside our Kitchen Manager to prepare and serve meals to our pupils and our team.

Our Kitchen Assistants carry out an essential and role to provide meals required by the children and young people in our care. You will take pride in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area and prepare the dining hall before and after serving. For many of our children consistency is key and our Kitchen Assistants take time to make sure everything is as it should be for a smooth lunchtime service.

When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant, who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

Previous experience in a similar setting would be great but isn’t essential as full training will be given, and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. This role is ideal for people working in customer facing industries including retail, hospitality, and leisure, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to children’s lives and futures.

You will be quality focused, efficient, able to work at pace and motivated to help us provide a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive. We are looking for a kitchen assistant to assist with general food preparation and lunch delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for food preparation and supporting the cook where required ensuring food allergies/intolerances are considered
