We currently have opportunities to join us as a Bank Support Worker.   Previous Support Worker experience is not required as we provide a through induction, training programme and ongoing support.  We’ve had people successfully join us from Hospitality backgrounds, Retail, Customer Service and more.  We are looking for someone who is motivated by helping others with a flexible and proactive approach. 

About the role

As a Bank Support Worker, you will provide a high quality service to the adults within our care.  All residents of our Underley Gardens sites are adults with autism, learning disabilities or mental health needs, you will play a vital role in their day to day activities, care and safeguarding.  You will receive a fantastic induction, buddy programme and ongoing support to ensure you are fully equipped for your new role.

Underley Gardens is situated within a beautiful countryside setting, on the edge of the Lake District, near the town of Kirkby Lonsdale.  We have 3 Adult homes, one in Kirkby Lonsdale, Lindale and Grange-over-Sands.

During your shift you will be responsible for safeguarding the adults, ensuring they are healthy, safe, and as comfortable as possible. Also supporting residents with their physical, emotional, and personal care needs working in line with agreed care plans.  The role of Support Worker is a challenging but rewarding one, you will need to be prepared to work long hours (with rest days), be involved with behaviour management and ensuring the personal care of each person is upheld.  Working collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to the happiness and wellbeing of those entrusted within our care, achieving the best possible outcomes.

Essential criteria:

We are look for applicants who are compassionate, enthusiastic, reliable, and resilient.

You will be someone who works well within a team, able to proactively organise and plan a workload and capable of adapting to situations to achieve the best possible outcome following best practice guidance at all times.

A driving licence would also be desirable due to the remote location of the site and limited public transport.
