About the role

Working with the Finance Manager, you will provide day to day financial support to our Fostering division. You will take an active and evolving role in producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts for multiple agencies across the Group. You will be producing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating any differences that may arise.  The managers will also need support reviewing the gross profit on a monthly basis and ensure income and carer costs have been accounted for correctly.

You will work closely with Senior Managers across fostering and ensure they have financial visibility and budgetary control to enable them to effectively run their agencies. This may involve travel to agencies across the country for face to face meetings with local agency staff.

We put a real focus on customer service and you must be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the Group. You will demonstrate strong financial business partnering skills by providing reports, holding monthly calls and holding meetings at least twice a year.


Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone that has a recognised UK accounting qualification or is currently working towards one. You must have relevant experience and a good knowledge of UK GAAP. 

It is essential that you are able to meet tight deadlines, showing good initiative to take ownership of tasks.  You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the Group.


Essential Criteria

  • AAT or working towards ACA, CIMA or ACCA or relevant accounts experience.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP.
  • MS Office, including Excel to intermediate level.
  • Professional demeanour, positive and flexible attitude, good inter- personal and communication skills and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Be able to work alone and tackle tasks proactively.
  • Show good initiative and take ownership of tasks or issues.
  • Experience of Access Dimensions would be advantageous, though not essential.
