Salary: Up to £40,000 dependent on experience

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Term Time only

We’re looking for a SENCO with Deputy Head responsibilities to join the Acorn Park team. Someone who can deliver a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role.
About the School
Acorn Park is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School and Residential home within the Acorn Care and Education and NFA Group, the UK’s Largest, Independent Children’s services group. The School specialises in communication and learning challenges associated with Autism.
The School and Homes are within a private, 30 acre Estate situated within Norfolk’s picturesque and tranquil countryside, close to the town of Banham.
The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each child’s potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide the young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment. About the Role:
This role requires the successful applicant to work alongside all staff to improve knowledge, confidence and working SEN practices and policies. Creating opportunities for the Children and focusing on raising their achievements should be at the forefront of the successful applicants mind.
There will be line manager reponsibilites as a Deputy Head and you will ensure the policies, procedures and ciriculum are all entertwined with SEN practices and understanding.
Reports, targets and assessments will need to be accurate and thorough and there will be an expectation to continously improve and deliver new and up to date information and methods.
What we are looking for
Acorn Park is looking for a qualified SENCO who has led a team and worked with additional responsibilites. The successful candidate must be confident with coaching and developing the full staff team's understanding and confidence, when working with SEN and additional needs. Acorn Park is a ASC specialist School and therefore, experience working with Children with Austism and developing policies and proceedures within the curriculem to best support our children, is essential.
Acorn Park has introduced a clinical team to the site and therefore, working with multidiciplinary staff and developing the best ways to improve children's outcomes is imperative.
The successful applicant will take the lead in developing and evaluating SEN practice within the school and will oversee the day to day operation of the school’s SEN policy.
Essential Criteria:
- At Least 2 years’ experience working with children and young people within a SENCO setting.
- SENCO Qualification
- Experience of managing and coaching staff
- Understanding and knowledge of Autism and children with complex needs
- Demonstrate leadership skills
- Ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service
