Be the ICT Instructor  you’ve always wanted to be.

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Options Trent Acres School, Kings Bromley. If you are looking to join a dedicated team in a school that will welcome your ideas and aim to re-engage the young people we teach, we would like to hear from you.

Options Trent Acres offers education and residential care to boys and girls aged between 8 and 18 years with autism and a range of Complex Needs including mild learning disability.  Options Trent Acres provides a highly structured and supportive environment which supports our children to manage their behaviour and develop personal care, social interaction and independence skills. The service is able to educate children with autism and complex needs, including emotional and cognitive impairment due to early life trauma and learning difficulties. This is achieved through an integrated care model incorporating the skills and expertise within our education and clinical teams. This model enables us to meet children’s individual needs and enables children to develop within an appropriate peer group. We need highly-motivated and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a real difference.

About the Role

Working with our Teachers and Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for providing essential support to our SEN pupils with learning difficulties, behavioural, social and physical disabilities. You will build positive relationships with pupils to promote interaction and a constructive learning environment as well as assist the class teacher and other education staff with learning activities. Work is often carried outside of the classroom environment and you will have the opportunity to assist in the planning and delivery of lessons in a very creative and positive setting.

Our team at Options Trent Acres are encouraged to take a creative approach, seeking ways to positively engage with and motivate pupils through lessons that promote learning and raise levels of attainment. Smaller class sizes mean you can focus on building a purposeful learning environment that meets individual educational needs of pupils, helping to narrow the gap for pupils who are behind where they should be.

As part of the Acorn Care and Education Group. We can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.

Who we are looking for?

No two days are the same at SCHOOL so we want people who can work at pace to turn ‘can’t do’ into ‘want to’ and are motivated by working with children with complex needs. You will be motivated by your belief that every child can achieve and reach their potential.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children in a calm and engaging demeanour, whilst being resilient using an innovative style of teaching motivated by your belief that every child can achieve and reach their potential.

Whilst previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

If you are looking to join a dedicated team in a school that will welcome your ideas and aim to re-engage the young people we teach, we would like to hear from you.
