Hillcrest Children Services is a national provider of therapeutic residential and educational settings to children and young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The services offered provide a stable, secure and supportive environment in which the children within our care can have enriching personal development and growth. Hillcrest provides a holistic model of care and education, these models take into account the individual personal, academic and pastoral needs of all our children in order to reach long-term goals. All the Residential and Education provisions are supported by a designated Clinical Team which offers highly specialised assessments and consultations.

Job Summary and Duties

As a Team leader you will supervise and motivate a team of Support Workers, whilst also completing a hands on role to ensure the highest quality of care and support is offered to our Residents. You will design, implement and monitor the care and education plans in accordance with the individual needs of our children and young people to ensure that key life and independent skills are achieved in the enriching and positive environment we strive to create.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who holds supervisory experience and is looking for a new opportunity. This role is offered on a full time/ permanent basis working on a 1 on/ 2 off or 2 on / 4 off shift pattern, plus sleep in duties which are paid at an additional rate. 

Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties will include: 

·         Supporting the young people’s emotional needs  

·         Leading, mentoring and motivating staff teams   

·         Providing formal supervisions and managing staff performances  

·         Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders  

·         Deputising for the senior staff in their absence   

Key Skills Required

·         Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)  

·         Previous experience working in a supervisory capacity  

·         Effective communication skills both written and verbal  

·         Experience in managing and leading staffing teams to deliver positive results  

·         Diligent, enthusiastic and passionate   

·         Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
