Outcomes First Group celebrate Occupational Therapy Week

From 6th to 12th November, Outcomes First Group are celebrating Occupational Therapy Week organised by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.

Occupational Therapists from across the group will be raising the profile of their profession which supports people to ‘live life their way’ despite any health or care needs they may be living with.

The theme for the week is ‘I am an Occupational Therapist’, building on the Royal College of Occupational Therapists call for its members to be ‘loud and proud’ of the value they add to the lives of hundreds of thousands of people every week.

Billy Smallwood, Head of Clinical Services for Outcomes First Group said: “Look out for events within your service or school including; an ‘occupation’ treasure hunt, an ‘ask the Occupational Therapist’ event, a talk on the benefits of sensory environments and a sensory based play and walk with photos.”

Julia Scott, CEO at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists also commented: “I’m delighted that Outcomes First Group has joined the hundreds of organisations supporting Occupational Therapy Week. It is a great reflection of local community spirit.

“The events taking place across Outcomes First Group is an excellent way to promote the value of services that provide practical support to empower people to … overcome barriers preventing people from doing the activities that matter to them.”
