Anna Autisms Got Talent

Options helps to put incredible autistic talent firmly in the spotlight by sponsoring special show

Options, the specialist autism service provider of Outcomes First Group, is proud to sponsor this year’s Autism’s Got Talent, which will be held at the Mermaid Theatre on Saturday 6th May.

This is the first time that Options has been involved with this inspiring event, created in 2012 by Anna Kennedy’s autism charity Anna Kennedy Online, and supported once again by Pineapple Performing Arts School.

Autism’s Got Talent celebrates performers who are on the autism spectrum. Over previous years, it has showcased an array of incredible talent and proved a tour de force emotionally, both challenging and changing perceptions of autism.

The show includes talent from people of all ages, including actors, singers, musicians and dancers.  This year, there will be 18 national acts which will include a performance from Hillingdon Manor School in which 20 students will be taking part. Their act ‘Autism with Attitude’ includes a dance routine choreographed by their dance teacher Jonathon Baron which they are very excited to be performing. The evening will also include an act from one of the students from Baston House School who will be represented at the event for the first time this year.

Options, part of the Outcomes First Group, provides specialist services for children and young adults across England and Wales with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and learning disabilities. They offer a pathway that is unique within the sector, providing support to individuals at any stage of their life.

Anna has to date worked closely with the autism services with Outcomes First Group is now extending her role across the services within the group as the autism ambassador for Options. Options’ sponsorship of Autism’s Got Talent is just one aspect of their collaborative and mutually supportive relationship, which continues to grow.

Commenting on Anna’s role as autism ambassador, Outcomes First Group Chief Executive Officer, Graham Baker said: “We are delighted to be working with Anna, her values and wealth of experience add real insight to our expanding organisation.”

Anna, who also founded autism-specialist school Hillingdon Manor, is dedicated to raising awareness and ensuring that people with autism are accepted for who they are. Earlier this year Anna Kennedy Online launched the album, Building Bridges, featuring tracks performed by artists who mostly all participated in previous Autism’s Got Talent Shows – providing another opportunity for performers with Autistic Spectrum Conditions to showcase their talent.

Looking forward to Autism’s Got Talent on 6th May, Anna said: “This promises to be a very special event – extremely poignant for those with autism and their families. We’re looking forward to those involved having fun, doing what they love and being themselves. It will be a night that is all about them.”
